Weather and Climate : What's the Difference?

This picture was taken by my student in Meteorology 1, Earl Jo Solmila

Weather is the state of the atmosphere in a short period of time. It can last for hours, days or weeks while climate is a state of the atmosphere in a long period of time. It takes more than 30 years for the climatologists to study the climate of a certain place. Climate is actually what we expect and weather is what we experience.

There are two elements that we are taking into account when determining the climate namely, temperature and precipitation. But in marine weather,  we take into consideration the weather elements such as the atmospheric temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind, sea state, precipitation and visibility.
